Android browsers bomb out when trying to open file selector

Has anyone else had it when trying to use a browser in AppSupport, and you need to upload a file into a website - You press the button on that page to open the file selector and the browser just closes?

I get this on Brave and Firefox.

If I try to do the same feature with the Sailfish browser, then it works absolutely fine:
It gives me the list of folders (Documents, Images etc.) plus “File System” where you can get to the home folder or the SD card.

The trouble is that there are a lot of sites that won’t load in the Sailfish browser, sadly, which is a pity because the stock browser is very nice to use.

This is with a Sony 10iii / SFOS 5.1.0.11 and latest builds of the above browsers.

I restarted AppSupport and toggled a few of the features like presenting the SFOS filesystem and microG.

Is there an android browser that works better in this area, or does anyone know a workaround that lets Brave upload files from SFOS?

Yes this is a known issue at the moment unfortunately. The Android share dialog similarly also doesn’t work.

Ah, gotcha.
I wonder if there’s any workaround like pointing the browser at a local file and copying it to the upload window (which works for some sites), but with most of the browsers, if you aim them at a local file path, it searches for that string in google or wherever.

Thank you that info. I have an Android app S-Ostoslista which crashes when I try to share the shopping list to another user.

It’s odd because when you add eM client (which is an android app) and try to add an attachment, the file selector works fine.
Yet, regardless of which browser vivaldi, brave, firefox etc, those apps can’t access a file to upload from the phone.

I have the same behaviour with Firefox, Opera Mini…
