Android AppSupport store affected by developer registration?

based on this url, will the android app store be affected when this comes in to force?

Starting in 2027, a silent update, nonconsensually pushed by Google, will block every Android app whose developer hasn’t registered with Google, signed their contract, paid up, and handed over government ID.

I guess you’ll have to ask Andy app stores.

Hasn’t this also been posted like 3-4 times already?
Why would google blocking apps somehow translate over to SFOS?
(No, please don’t answer, it was rhetorical).

No this won’t affect SFOS’s AppSupport… unless you go against Jolla’s recommendation & replace MicroG with GApps (aka Google Play services provided by Google).

The Google problem with Android apps is (or will be) caused by Google Play services, which SFOS does not install. Instead it uses MicroG which only simulates Google Play where needed.

Well, you might find that apps by “bad” authors are no-longer available on the Play Store (and so Aurora store), but it won’t affect F-Droid, etc.
