Android appsupport is not able to take vpn dns

REPRODUCIBILITY: 100% (always)
OSVERSION: 5.1.0.11
HARDWARE: Xperia XA2 - h3113 - h3113 - 1.0.0.7 - armv7hl
UI LANGUAGE: Italiano (user: it_IT, os: it_IT.utf8)
REGRESSION: yes (since: n/a - n/a)

DESCRIPTION:

Browsers (but i guess every other app in aas) is taking the original connection dns and not the vpn one

PRECONDITIONS:

Android appsupport is needed, as everything is working on the default jolla browser

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Connect to a vpn
  2. Open an android browser
  3. Navigate to a geoblocked site or a site with tons of ads (in case your vpn comes with an adblock)
  4. See the site unable to load (in case of geoblocking) or displaying ton of ads

EXPECTED RESULTS:

I expected the dns from the vpn to be taken into account by the android browser

ACTUAL RESULTS:

No dns is taken into account by aas, making it impossible to navigate certain sites

  • Patchmanager: no
  • OpenRepos: yes

  • Other: none specified

Try to navigate spunteblu.it with either the sailfish browser and a browser with aas to see what iā€™m talking about
