I would like to propose adding an explicit “5G Standalone (SA) Only” mode to the Cellular Network settings.
Older cellular generations introduce significant privacy and security vulnerabilities that sophisticated attackers or IMSI catchers can exploit. This would be particularly useful for privacy-conscious users operating on public 5G networks (slice) or private 5G networks.
Since forcing 5G SA can lead to loss of connectivity in areas without 5G standalone coverage, this could either Include a clear user warning about potential coverage dropouts or be placed behind an “Expert Mode” or Developer settings toggle.
