Hello Sailor-community,
with the help of ‘Angeborene Intelligenz’ from ‘Anna Maria’ I could identify some issues with regards to the synchronisation between Sailfish’s contacts app and Nextcloud that can be reproduced as outlined below.
#1 setting to automatically synchronise changes on the sailfish device does not seem to work
#2 deletion of a contact’s properties on the sailfish device is not synchronised to NC
#3 contacts deleted in NC will not get deleted on the sailfish device
Environment: Sony Xperia XA2 h3113, Sailfish 5.1.0.11, German UI, no extensions, no AAS, Nextcloud (NC): self-hosted local Nextcloudpi instance with NC 33.0.6
Settings in NC account on Sailfish device: two-way sync, sync changes on device automatically: checked, interval: 15 minutes, services: contacts (and others)
(exact times below do not matter and are just indicated to demonstrate the absense of automatic sync of changes)
11:43 action: shut down Sailfish device, start again
11:48 action: add new contact in NC (name ← Jolla, phone ← 12345, email not set)
----- wait for next synchronisation (I checked sync about every minute)
11:50 observation: newly added contact shows up in contacts app, that’s ok, next periodic sync expected around 12:05
11:51 action: add email address (email ← jolla@jolla.com) to contact on Sailfish device
----- wait for next synchronisation (I checked sync about every minute)
12:09 observation: newly added email address shows up in NC, which is fine but too late - expected was an immediate sync because of ‘automatically sync changes on device’ setting - next periodic sync expected around 12:24 → issue #1
12:13 action: delete contact’s email address on Sailfish device
----- wait for next synchronisation (I checked sync about every minute)
12:28 observation: email address is still deleted on Sailfish device, ok for now
12:29 observation: email address still not deleted on NC → issue #2
12:29 observation: email address re-appears on Sailfish device due to sync from NC → device, next periodic sync expected around 12:44
12:37 action: delete contact in NC
----- wait for next synchronisation
13:17 observation: contact is still existing on Sailfish device (still including email) → issue #3
Can someone try to reproduce this, please?
By the way, I have another sync between NC and a Thunderbird addressbook on my PC which works fine, hence I assume the issues are not related to NC.
