edit: All this is probably a result of my failed backup restore.
REPRODUCIBILITY: 99% (sometimes it works for a moment for no apparent reason but usually after some fiddling)
OS VERSION: 5.1.0.11
HARDWARE: Sony Xperia 10 III
UI LANGUAGE: EN
REGRESSION: I think so. Update 5.0 => 5.1
DESCRIPTION:
Bluetooth speakers connect fine but audio from media apps apparently is not routed there (calls are fine).
The same speaker (Tribit Stormbox 2) works fine on other hardware and has worked previously on this hardware and an X 10 II.
I think the update to 5.1 broke something.
PRECONDITIONS:
- Tribit Stormbox 2 Bluetooth speaker (also my car radio)
- Media app like gPodder or AllRadio2
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
- Connect speaker to phone bluetooth => looks OK
- Start app
- Press play
EXPECTED RESULT:
Audio is routed to bluetooth speaker
ACTUAL RESULT:
Audio continues playing through the speaker or a cable-connected headphone. Rarely there’s no audio at all, usually after using Utilities => Restart Audio, Restart Bluetooth).
MODIFICATIONS:
Some patchmanager patches, some manual tweaking but nothing wrt BT or Pulseaudio
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
I tried
- Utilities: restart both BT and Audio
- Forse-restart pulseaudio with
pulkseaudio -k - Reboot
systemctl --user restart pulseaudio.servicesystemctl restart bluetooth.service- install Appsupport-BT (beta) (I don’t use this, installed solely for the purpose of trying to solve this problem)
- full reboot
systemctl --user restart obex.service- installed
pulsemixerviapip. Seems to work otherwise but I cannot manually switch to BT audio.
I have read the following topics:
- Bluetooth headset connecting, but not working at all after 5.0.x -> 5.1.0x upgrade - #7 by rolandtreiber
- Bluetooth connection to car radio is not working correctly - #3 by crun
- Jolla C2 Bluetooth regression after Sailfish OS 5.1.0.11 update
- Bluetooth headset is media silent, but in phone calls sound is OK (C2) (I tried the app mentioned but it didn’t do anything and I uninstalled it)
