I’m not keen on installing it. Can I remove the nag? It keeps coming back even though I press “no thanks”.

Annoyingly enough: Install the app, perhaps launch it once, then remove it.

it looks like it can not be disabled until installed (lol), then go to Settings->Event view - disable weather widget, then uninstall, anyway i have SF5.1 on XP10ii and 10V and removed directly from event view and it never come back again and also i never had to install it…

Personally I find this an oversight; the long-press dropdown should have at least 2 options:
- not now
- never again

Just out of curiosity.
Which problems do you have with the app? Works quite fine as far as I can see and the norwegan prediction also seems quite accurate. Is it the space on the eventscreen?
IMHO Meecast has too little locations to choose so the norwegan weather sevice is a good choice.
Interestingly, for Meecast, you are able to manually add locations to the sqlite file or your specific data source if you feel comfortable doing that,
