REPRODUCIBILITY: 100%
OS VERSION: 4.5.0.16
HARDWARE: Xperia 10
UI LANGUAGE: PL
REGRESSION: no idea

DESCRIPTION:

So it’s generally in the title.
In the settings there’s an option to turn vibration when user is touching the screen.

PRECONDITIONS:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Go to Settings → Sound and signals → Touch screen vibration (sorry I’m translating this from PL)
  2. Turn on the option

EXPECTED RESULT:

The phone will vibrate when I’m touching the screen

ACTUAL RESULT:

Nothing happens

MODIFICATIONS:

patchmanager

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

vibration works when starting the phone,
vibration works on incoming call
CSD tool says Vibrator doesn’t work and does nothing when trying to perform the test.

It works as expected on X10 III. Just to be sure, if you enable Touchscreen vibration it doesn’t vibrate if you close an application from the home screen or use the pulley menu in the calendar for instance.

woah… so it only barely vibrate and only during these actions?

Hopefully yes. It will be annoying if it vibrates every time.

There is a small text explaining the behaviour: Vibrates when action is made on touch screen.

Maybe should be the Polish translation reviewed.

well, direct translation will be like this:

It will vibrate during usage of the touch screen

So imho it’s not good.
Also right now it’s like I hear the sound of the vibrator instead of actually feeeling it :d
and CSD is not turning on the vibrator.

Another Nokia OS of old used to not only vibrate on touch registration, but on scroll end:) nothing is as it used to be…

Odd that it is working sometimes but not in CSD.
I tried on an XA2 and X, vibrator is working in CSD.

Do vibration work only when the phone boots and when an incoming call arrives?
Does it not vibrate when you type text (with this enabled in settings)?

Well vibration normally works

I wouldn’t say it’s vibration but yeah it works.
