REPRODUCIBILITY: 100%
OS VERSION: 5.0.0.72
HARDWARE: Xperia 10III
UI LANGUAGE: Italian
REGRESSION: Yes

DESCRIPTION:

After the latest update of Whatsapp to app versione 2.25.34.12, when calling via app after the call is successfully connected, nothing can be heard by both participants to the call.

PRECONDITIONS:

Xperia 10III with specified SFOS version installed + AppSupport + Whatsapp specified version

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Start a call on Whatsapp

  2. Wait for the call to be connected

EXPECTED RESULT:

The call audio can be heard by both sides

ACTUAL RESULT:

No audio on both sides of the call, not even forcing a different speaker/headset

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Audio works normally within AppSupport (for instance, Telegram calls etc.).

Confirmed on my X10-II :frowning:
And Audio Output as a workaround doesn’t work either.

It’s a really annoying bug, preventing me from communicating with people… can anything be done about it?

Does it not help if you load older version?

Well I don’t know how to do that, but I was forced by whatsapp to update. So reverting to the latest usable version (which?) may end well in unusable whatsapp.

In Aurora store you can search for it and tap three points in the upper right corner on it’s page. Then choose manual transfer and input chosen version. I don’t know which version as I don’t use that WhatsApp function.

Do the backup of WA files before if unsure.

This is a workaround, but it won’t last long. At some point Whatsapp will stop working and require to install the new version. Any chance to get it working properly again?

For some strange, unknown reason it is working again. This sums up to all unpredictable behaviours of the system… Unfortunately with the low debugging knowledge I have & without some guidance I can’t help much.

Did the whatsapp update again or is it still the same version mentioned in the headline?

I updated to 2.25.34.74. Let’s see if it works.
